Raul “Rudy” Manuel Mojarro passed away July 23rd, 2021, at the age of 81, in Lone Pine, California.
Rudy was born December 20th, 1939, to Feliciano and Maria Mojarro in Lone Pine, CA. Growing up in a
modest household, shortly after the depression, Rudy learned the value of hard work at a young age,
but he was also competitive and enjoyed playing sports. After graduating from Lone Pine High School in
1958, Rudy served in the US Army in Alaska. After his honorable discharge, he returned to California.
Although he spent some time doing union work in Southern California, the Owens Valley was calling,
and he returned home. Upon his return, Rudy worked in construction and then was a truck driver for
over 40 years. Rudy enjoyed the outdoors and spent time camping, fishing, and hunting with his family
and friends. Although Rudy carried a serious demeanor, those closest to him knew he could cut loose
and have fun as well.
Rudy is survived by his sister Dora Daly, of Ridgecrest, CA; brother David Mojarro, of Carpinteria, CA; son
Brandon Mojarro and wife, Jodi with sons Zach and Ryan of Bishop, CA; daughter Kelly Mojarro and
husband Les with daughter Aubrey of Edmonds, WA. He also leaves behind countless nieces and
nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Feliciano and Maria, brother Robert; sisters Mary Ellen
and Grace.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, August 21st at 10:00 am at the Mt. Whitney Cemetery in Lone
Pine. A celebration of life will follow at the Lone Pine VFW.
